What is an autocomplete API?
It returns search suggestions while someone is still typing, so they can pick a full query instead of finishing it.
How is autocomplete different from search?
Autocomplete suggests queries from the words in your data. Search finds results by meaning. Most apps show suggestions while typing and run a search when one is picked.
Where do the suggestions come from?
From the documents in your database. Vecstore builds a word and phrase index from your content and ranks suggestions by how often they appear. It does not use what users have searched for.
How often do suggestions update?
The index refreshes on its own as you add or delete documents. New documents show up after the next refresh, not instantly.
Does it work with image databases?
No. Autocomplete works with text databases.
